New Shahry upgrades provide greater convenience for customers

Qtel's popular Shahry service just got even more accessible, with the launch of a interactive voice response (IVR) and Mobile Self-Service application, designed to enable people to manage their accounts.

The two convenient services mean that customers can manage their Shahry accounts, by upgrading to Shahry Value Packs, inquiring about their account balance, changing their nominated free numbers at the touch of a button and at their convenience.

With the new IVR, customers can dial 114 and use a touch-tone interface to manage their account. The simple procedure enables customers to change key features of their account without needing to visit a Qtel shop or dial the Customer helpline on 111.

Qtel has also launched a Mobile Self-Service application, which enables customers to fully manage their Shahry account. As well as checking their bills, checking their Value Pack balances and changing Value Pack details, the application enables customers to pay bills, manage Friends & Family accounts, reserve Easy-to-Remember numbers, and check payments from their mobile phones.

Waleed Al-Sayed, Executive Director, Customer Services, Qtel, said:
"These two new facilities make managing your account more easy than ever before, and ensure that our customers get the most from their Shahry accounts and have full control over how much they spend. With these new applications, people can manage their accounts from the touch-buttons on their mobile phone, and will never be surprised or out of touch again."

Many customers in Qatar have requested IVR technology be deployed to ensure fast access to key information, and Qtel is pleased to be among the first companies in Qatar to offer this facility.

In addition, the new Mobile Service-Service application is among the most advanced of its kind. It is available to all Shahry customers with Java-availability on their phones, and can be accessed by typing APP and sending it to 92558. Customers then receive an SMS with a link, which, when clicked, can be used to download the application.

One of the most popular features of Shahry are the budget-busting Shahry Value Packs, which offer a range of call minutes, SMS, MMS, and mobile Internet access for a fixed fee.

Using the new IVR and Mobile Self-Service applications, customers can upgrade or downgrade their Shahry pack for free whenever they need to, so that they have the right pack for their specific needs at that time.

As part of a promotion running through to November 14th, Qtel is enabling Shahry Value Pack customers to make international calls, as well as local, as part of their bundled minutes allowance. Combined with the SMS, MMS and megabytes of available Internet download, the result is huge value for people in Qatar.

Customers using the Shahry 300 or Shahry 575 service also get One Free Number - a specified phone number of a friend or family member that they can call for free as often as they want. Both of the new services enable customers to change their nominated Free Number or subscribe to the service for free.
