Ashish Mehrotra, Head, Consumer Assets, Citibank India, said:

"Owning a home in India is a long-cherished desire of all NRIs worldwide. However, the distance from the purchase location can be discouraging. Our endeavour with the India Home Property Exhibition is to create a convenient interface for NRIs with India's reputed real estate developers and help make the purchase process seamless. The Exhibition will further enhance the home buying experience with our NRI mortgage counselors providing one-to-one guidance on the financing options available including facilitating on-the-spot loan pre-approvals."

"NRI customers can avail loans ranging from INR 20 lacs to upto INR 5 crores for ready-to-move and under-construction properties. Loans can be obtained under flexible repayment plans linked to construction milestones and periodic payments can be conveniently routed through the Citibank NRE/NRO Account, which comes with a host of attractive banking features."

Vipul Kapur, Business Manager, Citibank NRI Business, said: "Since we launched the NRI Home Loan programme in 1997, it has received a very enthusiastic response from customers in the North America, Asia and the Middle East. I am confident that NRIs in Dubai too will fully leverage the value of this opportunity."

With over two decades of success, the Citibank NRI Business functions from over 74 centers across the globe. Managing assets worth over $8bn, the Business has been a pioneer in NRI banking, serving as a model for other Indian banks targeting NRIs. The business has four regional hubs in New York, London, Dubai and Singapore.
