Venkat Raghavan, General Manager, Al-Futtaim Technologies, said: "We are glad the industry is showing signs of recovery from a rather difficult year and this is good news for Al-Futtaim Technologies and other major regional players.
"We have been part of Gitex for more than a decade but our participation this year is rather special: we come into the event with two regional awards under our belt and an appetite for more challenges.
"Our specialised skills and solutions will be seen in the Smart Home, Smart Office pavilion and we thank the organisers for choosing us to be part of this venture. We will demonstrate our unique ability to bring together various components with a single-minded focus aimed at enhancing our customers' experiences. We are confident Gitex will offer us the right platform to engage with potential customers,"
he added.
Al-Futtaim's repertoire of systems includes best-in-class solutions from Alcatel.Lucent, Panasonic, Microsoft Business Solutions, Argility and Pragmedic, among others.
The Al-Futtaim Technologies stand will offer live demonstrations on video interactive voice response for contact centres from Genesys, the latest in hospitality and city management software and advanced telephony with unified communications and cellular extension. The solutions and applications will also include data networking, server storage, business applications, collaborative applications, vehicle tracking and fleet management solutions.
The Smart Home Smart Office stand will present a complete recreation of both a smart home and smart office environment using the Control4 product suite which will allow home owners to control music, movies, light, temperature and security systems using a remote control or the internet. The solution uses dimmers, timers and occupancy sensors to reduce energy waste.
"The solution will help significantly reduce energy consumption without compromising on lifestyle" said Mr Raghavan. "Automated home technology is one of the fastest growing sectors of the consumer electronics industry in the UAE. We believe smart homes and smart offices will be the norm within the next ten years."
Al-Futtaim Technologies was awarded the Enterprise Reseller of the Year award at the 2009 Channel Middle East awards and the Best Systems Integrator award at the Network Middle East Innovation 2009 awards ceremony in Dubai.
Al-Futtaim Technologies stands are located in Zabeel Hall (F1) and Hall 7 (C35 and C40).
