McAfee security portfolio to be showcased at Gitex 2009

At the event, the region's largest ICT exhibition, McAfee will be helping organisations get the most out of their security investments and deal with the challenges around protecting their data, systems and networks from security threats.

Information has become the lifeblood of today's businesses but can easily be lost or compromised through employee error or by being the target of cybercriminals' activity. At the same time, networks and systems are increasingly under attack, with new threats appearing at an alarming rate - McAfee Labs data shows that attacks on digital information increased 500 percent over the previous year.

During the five day event, McAfee will be discussing the need for organisations to adopt a strategy to protect what is most valuable to them. Forward-thinking organisations are increasingly turning to integrated offerings to achieve an improved security posture, while at the same time, have the need to be cost efficient.

On the stand Z-S27 located in Zabeel Hall, McAfee will be displaying its latest networking security technologies. Also at the stand will be Greg Day, McAfee's principal EMEA security analyst, ready to talk to businesses about the latest security and technology trends in the market such as threat evolution and the threats to adapt and security due to the growth of social media platforms.

Recently McAfee was placed by Gartner, the leading research form, in the leaders quadrant in its 'Magic Quadrant for Mobile Data Protection' published September 1, 2009. According to Gartner, vendor listed in the leaders' quadrant 'have products that work well for Gartner clients in small and large deployments.' Factors contributing to a company's ability to execute include products and services, overall viability, sales and marketing execution, and customer experience. Gartner evaluates a company's completeness of vision by considering in part its market understanding, sales and marketing strategy, offering or product strategy, business model and innovation.
