Daman concludes UAE's first health insurance educational summer program

As part of its strategy to develop the UAE's health insurance sector and its commitment to industry's Emiratisation, the National Health Insurance Company (Daman) concluded a specialized educational program for college and university students in the UAE.

The 12-week summer program held in June included academic training sessions in health insurance specifics such as medical insurance, underwriting, the UAE's health insurance laws and regulations.

Dr. Michael Bitzer, Daman's Chief Executive Officer, commented:
"By turning this into an annual program, we hope to develop professionally and academically qualified individuals to work in the UAE's health insurance industry."


Dr. Suzanne White, a FCII Accredited Advanced Technical Trainer from JWZ Solutions, the region's leading insurance management and consultancy firm, administered the course for ten participants from Zayed University, UAE University and HCT Women's College Abu Dhabi.

"The participants have shown great interest to our program and have all achieved successful appraisals. and have been recommended to apply for vacancies within Daman's Underwriting Department," Dr. Bitzer concluded. "We aim to attract more UAE nationals into the health insurance sector and offer similar personal development opportunities."
