This enhances Huawei's role as a major player in optical network in the UAE.

In it's efforts to announce Abu Dhabi to be the first optical city worldwide, Etisalat has called on it's partners in 2008 to help achieve this goal in two years. Huawei took the responsibility ever since by building a huge delivery workforce equipped with latest technology tools along with excessive training programs, the result was a fast and efficient FTTH delivery over Abu Dhabi's optical network.

As a major optical supplier in UAE, Huawei has supplied of the major part of Etisalat's GPON network infrastructure equipment to support the growing need for high bandwidth in the local residential and corporate markets, Huawei provides the optical infrastructure with high quality integration services in order to connect every single home in Abu Dhabi to it's supplied GPON network infrastructure.

Huawei has built a delivery organization comprising more than 600 engineers, technicians and labor. The delivery is taking place according to clear standard operating procedures and processes in full collaboration with Etisalat, which increases the efficiency while maintaining the quality of delivery.

"'eLife', our FTTH based network would be a remarkable technology leap for the country that will modernize the communications and telecom infrastructure and provide infinite entertainment options to the home users and innovative business avenues like e-education and on-line health check-ups through its high speed network, Huawei is a strategic partner that supports Etisalat in rolling out FTTH based services by providing their latest FTTH network technologies along with their quick and reliable integration services," said Mr. Jamal Al Sweidi, Etisalat SVP-Engineering in Abu Dhabi.

"Etisalat has relied on us for this mission, and we always work on exceeding their expectations. We know that their value proposition to their customers is based on quality and fast service, this becomes our joint goal in order to support Etisalat in serving the whole country with up-to-date technologies and applications, which in it's turn heavily rely on our optical infrastructure,"

said Mr. Wang Haunan, Vice President of Service and Delivery, Middle East.

This service delivery achievement is one of the results of Huawei's recent establishment of it's new branch of delivery and service in Bahrain, which came in the context of Huawei's efforts to provide quality services to the telecom service market in the Middle East region.
