Aside from strengthening the Westcon and Comstor brand, the company also seeks to drive its core vertical focus along the fields of networking, security, convergence and mobility and underline its new credentials in the identification market. To achieve this, Westcon ME has assigned specific branding themes on each of the four days of Connect'2009 along the core technology focus areas of Mobility, Security, Convergence and Infrastructure with presentations delivered by key industry personnel from vendor partners.
Vendor partners participating in the event include ADC Krone, Avaya, Avocent, Cisco, Clearswift, Corning, CPI, Dascom, Extreme, IDEAL, Lifesize, Motorola, Navtec, Proofpoint, Proxim, RCG and SonicWall,
Apart from a display area for products, on all the days of Connect'09, many of the participating vendors will also be providing technology-focused presentations throughout the event.
"Connect 2009 is an excellent forum for us to extend our offerings to the Middle East partner base and take advantage of the rising global interest in the region's ICT arena. The MEA region still has one of the fastest growing IT sectors in the world, so this is a great opportunity for us to show how our products and services are relevant for further ICT expansion in the MENA region and showcase several new vendors who can add real tangible value to our current partners,"
said Steve Lockie, Group Managing Director, Westcon Middle East.
The MENA region remains an attractive international ICT market, with current telecom and broadband internet revenues reaching record growth rates, which are poised to further grow by leaps and bounds through 2015.
As testament to Westcon's strong global reputation, Westcon Middle East Group won the ITP Channel Award for the Best Growth Initiative by a Distributor in March 2009. The award was made in recognition of the development and roll out of Westcon's 'Six Step Selling Cycle' that to date has been pivotal to the group's growth and is embedded in the go to market model of Westcon in the region.
