Separated into different health zones, the event will involve DHCC's extensive spectrum of clinics and healthcare facilities - many of which will be offering open house sessions during the two days. With 86 outpatient clinics, labs and diagnostic centres, 2 hospitals and 1,400 physicians, Health Festival '09 promises to be a one-of-a-kind community initiative.
Dr. Ayesha Abdullah, Senior Vice President of DHCC said:
"The focus of the festival is on bringing health and wellbeing issues to life in a fun and exciting way. Healthier living starts with empowerment; we want to encourage people to take a proactive approach and Health Festival '09 will be filled with activities, information and advice to help people lead healthy lives. "
The festival represents a true community initiative, bringing together partners within DHCC from our 86 clinics, 2 hospitals and numerous retail outlets with other organisations committed to supporting public engagement on health."
Two weeks prior to Health Festival 09, DHCC will launch its mobile clinic out-reach initiative for labourers helping to build DHCC and supporting Dubai's growth. A team of medical experts will offer free health checks, screening and advice.
Associate Sponsors of Health Festival '09 include National Health Insurance Company - Daman and Benefiber.
Dr. Michael Bitzer, CEO of National Health Insurance - Daman said: "we are delighted to be involved in Health Festival '09. It promises to be a fun event that encourages people to take control of their health.''
Ossama Zyada, Category Marketing Manager for Benefiber said: "we lead busy lives and making time for your health often falls low on the list of priorities. Health Festival '09 is an excellent initiative that demonstrates the many small changes people can make to lead a happier, healthier life."
The Partner Sponsor for the festival is The City Hospital (TCH), a 210-bed, multi-specialist, state of the art facility based in DHCC.
Health Festival '09 will take place on 6-7th November, 2009 from 1-9pm in District 1, Dubai Healthcare City.
