Among those shortlisted are Fouad Melhem, General Manager of Al Diar Siji Hotel, who is in the running for General Manager of the Year; Eric Francis Lobo, Food and Beverage Manager of Al Diar Dana Hotel, shortlisted as Food and Beverage Manager of the Year; Tito D'Costa, Chief Engineer at Al Diar Siji Hotel, who has been shortlisted as Engineering Person of the Year; and finally Jacinta Saldanha, Executive Housekeeper of Al Diar Capital Hotel who could win Housekeeper of the Year.
The Hotelier Middle East Awards were launched to recognize individuals that make the region's hotels some of the very best in the world.
Now in its sixth year, the Hotelier Middle East Awards recognizes a broad range of front- and back-of-house roles, from laundry managers to chefs, marketing managers to front office personnel. There are 19 award categories in the 2009 awards.
