The announcements include a new acquisition in the MCommerce practice as well as strategic partnership with Information Builders in the Middle East.

For the second consecutive year, Sybase will showcase a number of their world renowned cutting edge technologies and leading solutions in the areas of data warehousing at MEFX. Speaking about their participation at MEFX, Tony Achkar, General Manager, Sybase Products Middle East, said:
"With over 20 years of Sybase doing business in the Middle East with over 75 financial institutions across the region, our commitment to the industry remains strong. MEFX provides us the perfect opportunity to not only showcase our products and services, but to demonstrate our commitment to this market by participating in one of the most focused events for the financial sector."

"The Middle East market is of prime importance for Sybase Inc. This importance has increased this financial year due to the fact that the Middle East market is one of the least affected by the financial crisis worldwide and continues to witness growth. This is clearly demonstrated by the visit of John Chen, CEO, Sybase Inc., and, Dr. Raj Nathan, Chief Marketing Officer, Sybase Inc., to this region early this year." Achkar added.

Located within Sheikh Maktoum Hall, Stand B9-20, Sybase will meet all current and prospective customers from across the region. MEFX provides exhibitors such as Sybase a strong combination of not only bringing together key decision makers, technical professionals, but also provides a perfect opportunity for Sybase to get a chance to get first hand insight into the world of technology and services that are on exhibit at Gitex 2009.

While the Middle East IT market continues to grow each year, the opportunities in the field of IT for the finance and telecommunications sectors have seen an even further impetus. Sybase will use this opportunity to connect with current and potential customers at MEFX and showcase a range of products and services that will help in enhancing the investments and will provide them with financial and productivity edge over all areas of their business.
