Qtel selects Al Koot and AXA to provide comprehensive insurance services and QR1m coverage for staff

Qtel announced that it has appointed Al Koot Insurance and Reinsurance Co. and AXA Insurance Gulf to provide support for one of the most comprehensive insurance schemes ever provided for employees in Qatar.

The new scheme, developed in partnership with Al Koot and AXA, replaces the pre-existing Health Insurance programme offered to all Qtel employees, and extends the range of benefits provided to include all family members.

Offering a total coverage of approximately QR1m for each person, the health insurance programme covers general healthcare, optical, maternity and dental coverage, among other key benefits.

It has also been designed to ensure that the health insurance programme reflects Qtel's growing global profile, providing insurance coverage in countries around the world to ensure that employees are covered wherever they are. Under the terms of the policy, Qtel will have access to a network of clinics and hospitals for direct settlement in Qatar and globally, supported by Al Koot and AXA's international expertise.

Qtel selected this highly-comprehensive program and partnership to ensure that it is positioned to support the needs of its employees, as the company looks to build on its position as Qatar's preferred provider of world-class communication services.

Mr. Ahmed Rafee Al Emadi, CEO, Al Koot Insurance and Reinsurance, expressed his pride in completing the medical insurance agreement for Qtel's employees and their families. Al Emadi stressed Al Koot's eagerness to enhance the quality of health insurance in Qatar to match the level in developed countries through partnership with international entities like AXA. This comes with full encouragement of H.E. Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah Second Deputy Premier Minister of Energy and industry.

Al Emadi added that Al Koot presents its services to more than 70,000 subscribers in the State of Qatar, providing them with health benefits inside Qatar and throughout the whole world.
