Infdex 2009 - Qatar's largest furniture exhibition reaches new level of excellence

Infdex 2009 will host more than 100 exhibitors displaying their products in a massive 10,000-sqm exhibition arena. European designers and regional manufacturers will have a stronger presence this year. Famous brands from Italy, Spain, France, Lebanon, Turkey, and 20 other countries join Qatari designers to display their latest products and share their knowledge on innovation & design onsite.

Demonstrating the success of Infdex and the growth of Qatar's interior design industry, Infdex 2009 has the honor of being opened by His Excellency Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabr Al Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the State of Qatar, on Wednesday 21 October at 10:00 am.

"The 8th Infdex exhibition marks a major step in the evolution of the Qatari furniture and interior design industry. His Excellency's visit to Infdex 2009 is evidence of how design is gaining importance in Qatar and a direct support to the Qatari Economy,"

said Mr. Karim Zarka, CEO of Infdex organizer Qatar Expo.

"Good design is good business, and Infdex 2009 has the best designers. Leading Qatari companies such as Jaidah Group and Living Spirit are joined by major global furniture brands including Zara Home, Singways, TEKA and Vivarini," he added.

Another highlight of Infdex 2009, after a successful debut at Infdex 2008, will be the four Infdex Creative Awards including Best Young Designer (sponsored by Qatari Diar) and Best Eco-Friendly Stand (sponsored by Qatar Today).

Always striving to be at the forefront of innovative and exciting design concepts, Infdex 2009 hosts Qatar's first Italian design conference - Product and Project Quality: The Italian Furniture Industry Meets the Gulf Professional - on Wednesday 21 October.

To be opened by the Ambassador of Italy to Qatar, Product and Project Quality. The Italian Furniture Industry Meets the Gulf Professional brings together 3 legendary Italian designers - Roberto Snaidero (past President and Head of International Relations for Federlegno) - architect, author and TV personality Matteo Nunziati - and Denis Santachiara.
