DHA delegation share their expertise in health financing and country economics dialogue held in Turkey

The dialogue, discussed the fiscal implications of introducing healthcare reforms and the challenges that governments all over the world face with funding health policies.

From the DHA, Dr Haider Al Yousuf, Director of health funding at DHA and Dr Peyvand Khaleghian Director of Health policy and strategy at DHA attended the conference.

The dialogue brought together senior government officials from the Health and Finance sectors as well as experts from the World Bank and World Health Organisation and was facilitated by McKinsey.

Dr Al Yousuf said, "Healthcare systems financing is a challenge to governments all over the world especially with the constant increase in the cost of healthcare globally. No matter how mature or new a system is, creating the appropriate funding model is crucial to achieve a high quality accessible and a sustainable healthcare service."

He stated, "There is no perfect model and undoubtedly, this is a constant learning experience for everyone as many countries are facing the same challenges and have to constantly develop their systems to suite their needs."

"The significance of a dialogue such as this one cannot be undermined for it brings the best of international experience together at one platform, provides a great opportunity for us to exchange up-to-date information and build strategic alliances," added Dr Al Yousuf.
