Dubai Customs sheds light on its electronic services in Gitex

Dubai Customs takes part in Gitex information technology (IT) exhibition from October 18th to 22nd, 2009 with a stand for Dubai Electronic Government corner. The event takes place at Hall 8 in Dubai World Trade Center.

The Exhibition's visitors will be introduced to the different electronic services Dubai Customs offers to its clients and strategic partners. There are about 80 E-services that meet the needs of the trade community and its importers and exporters' provided by the Department.

They will also learn about Dubai Customs implementation of the most advanced international technologies in all customs centers. For instance, the E-clearance services and the inspection and check-up tools Dubai Customs uses in the different customs centers which help safeguard the local community from any harmful or prohibited materials that threaten consumers' health.

Furthermore, Dubai Customs considers Gitex Dubai an integrative IT umbrella which is a great opportunity to get acquainted with the most modern IT products around the world which offer great potentials for developing the Department's work.

Dubai Customs was among the first Departments to shift to the electronic government system and implement it to its services. It is also keen on updating its modus operandi whether internally for the employees or externally for the clients to enhance relations.

The event constitutes a convenient opportunity to be introduced to the Department's official website. Besides, the E-payment system users and clients will have the chance to win laptops every day through Dubai Customs competition that will be carried out in its stand in the Exhibition and through live broadcast on Noor Dubai from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. in Arabic as well as Business Breakfast Program on Dubai Eye Radio Station from 6:00 to 9:00 a.m. in English.

Both programs will be directed to the public throughout the whole period of the Exhibition and they will include questions on the Department and the quality services it offers to the clients.
