SKMC re-opens Al Rowda Family Medicine Clinic

Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, managed by Cleveland Clinic, is pleased to announce the re-opening of Al Rowda Family Medicine Clinic on 18 October 2009.

Al Rowda Family Medicine Clinic was temporarily closed for the past year for renovation works as part of the overall strategy to improve the Primary Healthcare System in Abu Dhabi. The aim of the renovation project was to make the clinic more comfortable for patients and technologically advanced.

SKMC is owned and operated by SEHA, the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, which is responsible for the curative activities of all the public hospitals and clinics in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Ali Khalili, Chairman of Family Medicine at SKMC, stated:

"Al Rowda clinic has been expanded. We now have 24 examination rooms, new, larger registration and patient waiting area and a new electronic medical records system that will improve the flow and handling of prescriptions and registration."


"For the patient ease of access, we encourage families to visit the clinic closest to their area of residence. This new system has helped the Abu Dhabi population to add a doctor to their family," Dr. Khalili added.

The renovated Al Rowda Family Medicine Clinic, located on Al Karamah Street and includes an X-ray room and laboratory services. It will be staffed by 10 physicians, 3 of whom are consultants.

SKMC Family Medicine Clinics provide a wide array of healthcare services for the entire family including screening programs, immunization programs, child care, teen's health, range of acute to chronic care, geriatric care, mental health care, women's health program, community outreach and education, minor procedures and surgeries, family counseling and home care program.
