SIBS takes place 14-17 October at Al Furusya Marina & Yacht Club in Jeddah.

"What makes the Navigator a leader in its segment is its combination of luxury and capability, along with the finest of quality and a host of the latest technology and safety features. The Navigator combines classic Lincoln design and amenities with the functionality that full-size SUV customers demand. And for 2010, safety and technology upgrades reaffirm this model as the luxury SUV leader."

said Waldo Galan, managing director, Ford Middle East.

With three valves per cylinder and variable cam timing, the Navigator's 5.4-liter V8 engine delivers a balance of refinement and muscle. Rated at 300 NET horsepower and 365 pound-feet of NET torque, Navigator can tow up to 9,200 pounds (4.1 ton) when properly equipped.

Navigator's powerful engine is paired with a standard six-speed automatic transmission. With a wide 6.02:1 gear ratio and two overdrive gears (fifth and sixth), the six-speed transmission has smaller steps between gears than a typical four-speed automatic and offers improved shift quality, faster acceleration and improved fuel economy even when carrying a lot in the cargo area or doing some heavy duty towing.

Navigator's transmission comes with a Tow/Haul mode which changes shift points under acceleration, keeping the vehicle at a higher RPM and further up the power range. The system also prevents the transmission from upshifting when going up a hill, and provides downhill braking which in turn allows the transmission to downshift keeping the Navigator at a slow and steady speed.

For 2010, Navigator's exclusive AdvanceTrac with RSC is joined by standard Trailer Sway Control. The system works in conjunction with AdvanceTrac with RSC to determine from the yaw motion of the vehicle if the trailer is swaying and takes measures - such as applying precise braking or reduced engine torque - to help bring both vehicle and trailer under control.

Unlike competitive systems, AdvanceTrac with RSC utilizes a second gyroscopic roll rate sensor to determine the vehicle's body roll angle and roll rate. If the unique roll rate sensor detects a significant roll angle, the system applies additional countermeasures - such as applying brakes to one or more wheels or reducing engine power - to enhance vehicle rollover resistance.

A special Lincoln test drive programme also offers SIBS visitors the chance to win a new Lincoln MKS from Al Jazirah Vehicles Agencies Co, the Ford and Lincoln importer-dealer in the Kingdom.
