Starting 18th October, Tetra Pak Arabia and DBAJ have organised awareness seminars which will be conducted for children of grades 3-5 and grades 8-10 across private and public schools. The first seminar will be conducted in association with Dubai Autism Centre and will address the parents of children with Autism.
These seminars will be facilitated by Dr. Shah Khan, a renowned Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon at Dubai Bone and Joint Center. He will engage with students through a series of interactive games and fun workshops, focusing on topics of interest in Osteoporosis and utilization of milk. After the seminars, Tetra Pak milk packages and gifts will be distributed amongst the children.
Commenting on the initiative, Martin Fejk, Marketing Director, Tetra Pak Arabia, said:
"We are pleased to partner with DBAJ to raise osteoporosis awareness amongst children and their parents. It is important that children maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle to become active members of society. In line with our motto, 'Protects Whats Good', we strive to offer the best packaging, enabling children to benefit from the healthiest nutrients of products inside our packages."
World Osteoporosis Day holds special significance for DBAJ, the leading regional Musculoskeletal Center, as it is the only extensive medical facility for orthopaedic disorders in the Middle East. Dr. Shah khan, Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon at Dubai Bone and Joint Center said: "It is our responsibility to create and impart awareness on osteoporosis to our children as these youngsters are our future. The right guidance at an early age will help them maintain a healthy bone development and build stronger communities later on in life."
Osteoporosis is a disease in which density and quality of bone is reduced. As the bones become more porous and fragile, the risk of fractures is greatly increased. Dairy calcium-enriched foods such as milk and milk products, exercise and Vitamin D are crucial in building up bone mass during childhood.
Tetra Pak has always played an active role in raising awareness about the importance of milk consumption by organizing fun-filled activities for children and parents in the UAE, like the recently successful World Milk Days in the UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Bahrain and Yemen.
