Sama upgrades to New Skies by Navitaire

Sama Airlines is proud to announce that it will be replacing it's reservations and distribution system and moving to the most up-to-date version of New Skies, by Navitaire, the world leader in LCC systems.

This step comes as part of a series of improvements which will strengthen and develop its infrastructure to provide high quality of services across all business functions.

The new system will be launched on October 23rd 2009. New services, such as advanced seat selection and the opportunity to pre-purchase excess baggage will be available from this date, plus a new range of fares to suit all passengers. Our new Flexible Fares will offer the most competitive prices for business travelers, enabling changes and cancellation up to 12 hours prior to departure, with our affordable Regular Fares giving leisure passengers the option to change or cancel their booking.

In addition to this new flexibility we will also be introducing a 2 hour "grace" period for all bookings, allowing changes to be made, with no change fee charged, if passengers make any errors in their original booking. We hope this will give confidence to our passengers who may previously have avoided booking online and believe this will help grow internet use in the Kingdom, in alignment with government aims.

Passengers already booked under the old system will not be affected by the change as their data will be transferred as part of the transition process.

A programme of staff and travel agent training has been delivered over the past month to ensure all Sama representatives, both internal and external, are familiar with the new system and can continue to deliver a high level of service to all of our passengers, regardless of how they book and communicate with Sama. Our Travel Agent partners will continue to enjoy a dedicated area of our website, with more detailed reporting and information available than before.

Sama continues to improve its policies and procedures for all company activities in addition to the huge progress that has been made since the beginning of 2009 in operating on-time flights.

These current developments will pave the way to allow Sama to expand its fleet with 20 to 25 new aircrafts to enter the service gradually during the next few years. This fleet growth will reflect to destinations expansions and frequencies increase, to provide Sama travelers with more choices in near future.
