Action Hotels and Accor Hospitality Middle East

Kuwait-based Action Hotels Company, a subsidiary of Action Group Holdings, and Accor Hospitality Middle East have officially opened Jordan's first internationally branded economy hotel, ibis Amman.

The move reflects ibis hotels ongoing expansion across the Middle East and compliments Action Hotels' two existing hotels, ibis Salmiya and ibis Glen Waverley Melbourne. Two other ibis properties are scheduled to open in Bahrain and Sharq, Kuwait in early 2010.

Welcoming the announcement, HE Sheikh Mubarak AM Al-Sabah, Chairman of Action Hotels and Vice Chairman of Action Group Holdings, said:

Our partnership with Accor is highly significant as we create the first Accor hotel in Jordan and the first branded mid market hotel in Amman."


ibis Amman offers customers the best value for their money with 158 perfectly equipped en-suite rooms with large double-beds, high speed wireless internet connection (WIFI), LCD flat-screen TVs and direct-dial phones. The hotel also has 45 interconnecting rooms, two special need rooms, including three well-appointed meeting rooms with natural daylight and three non-smoking floors.

Free WIFI is also available in the lobby and public areas. There is guaranteed service availability 24/7 which include a business corner in the lobby and a wide variety of dining options such as the Open Pasta & Grill restaurant as well as the L'Oasis snack bar. ibis Amman will also offer guests the convenience of 24-hour dining at the Coffee Lounge. Other facilities include indoor car parking, free safety deposit boxes at reception, and an airport shuttle service.

The Amman property is located exactly opposite Amman Mall in the Tila' Al Ali district, which is a 30-minute drive from Queen Alia International Airport, and within minutes of the Jordanian capital's prime commercial and leisure areas.

With its long-standing strategic alliance with the France-based Accor Group, Action Hotels is focused on growing its network of internationally-recognised three and four star hotels in the Middle East region.
