DQG, DED RAK launch 'Share Best Practices conference 2009' and sign strategic partnership

Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai Quality Group (DQG) and the Department of Economic Development, Ras Al Khaimah (DED RAK) on Thursday launched the events of "Best Practices conference 2009" at Hilton Hotel - Ras Al Khaimah.

The organization of the conference is a joint initiative between the two organizations in order to spread the concepts of creativity and the culture of excellence in all government departments and local organizations in Ras Al Khaimah and encourage them to adopt standards and activities of organizational development.

The conference included the signing of a strategic partnership between DQG and DED RAK to become an investor member at the group, in order to strengthen its efforts to adopt standards of quality in its services and implement the principles of excellence in its internal management systems.

Hajar Al-Eisa, Deputy Executive Director and Corporate Support Manager at Dubai Quality Group, said:
"The areas of work of the group and its activities are not confined to Dubai only, but extended to cover all the Emirates and the region as well. The Group has always sought to support the initiatives of its members. The organization of "Best Practices Conference" comes within DQG's continued contribution and support for the Department of Economic Development, Ras Al Khaimah, which in turn is intended to obtain the best practices from the private sector organizations."


Al-Eisa emphasized on the importance of holding such conferences regularly due to its direct and active role in the dissemination of the awareness of quality culture among individuals and organizations alike.

"DQG is ready to support all organizations that are looking to implement the standards of quality and excellence through various partnership programs for both individual and organizations," added Al-Issa.

On his part, H.E. Dr. Hassan Hamdan Al-Alkim, Director General of Department of Economic Development, Ras Al Khaimah, said, "The department has worked over the last years to embrace all that is modern and new in the field of quality and excellence to be able to provide services to its audience according to the highest international quality standards. Our organization of this conference with Dubai Quality Group comes within the framework of our strategic plan to make a quantum leap in the concept of services and organizational work."

Commenting on the signing of the agreement, HE. Dr. Al-Alkim has emphasized that the department is continues to its strategic partnerships projects which would develop the work of the department and enhance its efforts to be in the forefront.

He also said, "DQG has achieved a quantum leap in the implementation of quality standards in many organizations, and in turn, we hope to benefit from services offered by the Group to be able to obtain international quality certificates and rehabilitate the department to engage in quality competition locally and globally."

Mr. Ali Alfadlany, Chairman of Benchmarking subgroup at Dubai Quality Group, and the main speaker at the conference, said, "The launch of this conference is a successful step from Dubai Quality Group to disseminate the results of best practices for organizations that have succeeded in achieving the standards of quality and excellence which are looking to develop services and management systems."

Mr. Alfadlany spoke about the comparisons of standards and the implementation of best practices in the Dubai Quality Group. On the other hand, Dubai Aluminum Company (DUBAL) has demonstrated its model for "staff participation system in organizational innovation" as well as the experience of Dubai Customs to "customer complaints system" and a number of models from many organizations.

From the vision of H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi to appreciate creative and talented; the conference concluded by honoring a number of speakers and moderators.
