His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai officially opened the TAKAMUL project, during his tour of Gitex 2009.
The project is a joint initiative between the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department (DNRD).

His Excellency Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority said,

"The project is an electronic integration between the two government departments to fasten the process of issuing and renewing residency permits in the Emirate of Dubai. The project is a huge initiative that reflects our commitment to constantly improve the service we provide to the people of Dubai and it will ease the process of obtaining a residence visa for a huge percentage of the people who work and live in Dubai."

"The project is in line with Dubai's vision to use technology to fasten day-to day- procedures. It is a complete overhaul in the manner in which we issue our residency permits and conduct our medical fitness test. It will make the process easier and quicker for all our customers."

Brigadier Mohammed Al Merri, Director General of Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department (DNRD), said, "Takamul is a great initiative that highlights the cooperation between two government departments. The integration will lead to an active strategic cooperation between the two government bodies and we are proud of this integration. By exchanging required information, we have eased the process for obtaining a residence visa for everyone in the Emirate of Dubai."

The TAKAMUL project will ensure that every person who applies for a medical fitness test does not need to follow-up the procedure as both the departments will provide the customer all the requisite information.

Once the test is taken at the DHA medical centre, DHA will automatically record the medical fitness results and forward it to the DNRD system.
Once DNRD receives the results of the test, the customer will receive a notification that the medical fitness result is available with DNRD and he/she will fill out the DNRD form electronically and process to the nearest DNRD station to get his/her visa.

His Excellency Al Murooshid said, "The project will be of great convenience to our customers as they will not have to follow-up their medical fitness status. We will provide them all the information to simplify the process. We are proud that this integration will ease the process to obtain a residency visa for everyone in Dubai."
