These include the use of ICT in government and various economic sectors such as education, finance, healthcare and tourism, and promoting exchanges on the use of ICT by the government and private sectors.

The extension was signed by Dr Salim Al Ruzaiqi, Chief Executive Officer of the Information Technology Authority (ITA) of the Sultanate of Oman and RADM(NS) Ronnie Tay, Chief Executive Officer of the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore in Muscat, Oman.

Both parties will continue with the experience and knowledge sharing in this collaboration on ICT, and explore co-operation on projects which will be implemented by both the public and private sectors. Several projects were initiated following the signing of the MOU in 2007, such as the development of the Oman eGovernment Enterprise Architecture, the Ubar E-Government Portal and the establishment of a Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) for Oman.

RADM(NS) Ronnie Tay said

"Singapore has gained much experience in the development and implementation of a wide range of ICT projects in the government and various economic sectors over the years. The deep domain knowledge and expertise of Singapore infocomm companies can contribute to the development and adoption of ICT in Oman."
