KPMG, EmiratesGBC cooperate on promoting green building in UAE

KPMG and the Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC) are pleased to announce that the KPMG offices in the UAE were recently awarded "corporate membership" by The Council.

This award is in appreciation for the work that KPMG has done to support the Council's activities in the UAE during the past few years.

Mr. Vijay Malhotra, Chairman and CEO of KPMG in the UAE , received the corporate membership certificate at a recent presentation and explained that "the significance of this recognition is that it will allow us to continue to work together with the Emirates Green Building Council as part of our CSR initiative, including to highlight the importance of education about environmental awareness."

The presentation was held on Thursday 9th July at the Emirates Towers office of KPMG. The presentation was also attended by Mr Andrew Robinson who leads KPMG CSR initiatives and several EmiratesGBC Council Officers and Committee members.

Mr Jeff Willis, Chairman of EmiratesGBC, said, "KPMG and The Council have successfully collaborated on promoting green building initiatives in the UAE and we look forward to diversifying our relationship with support on strategic and operational issues."

The Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC) is a not-for-profit organisation, formed in 2006 with the goal of advancing green building principles for protecting the environment and ensuring sustainability in the United Arab Emirates. The EmiratesGBC is a full Established member of the World Green Building Council (World GBC) having been accepted in September 2006.
