MedHealth and Wellness and Women Expo 2009 to open today

His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Obaid Al Saidi, Undersecretary for Health Affairs at the Ministry of Health (MOH), will preside over the official inauguration today, October 19 of MedHealth and Wellness 2009 and Women Expo 2009 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre.

The formal inauguration ceremony, which will start at 10:00 AM, will be attended by ministry officials, members of the diplomatic corps, the top management of participating companies, healthcare professionals, and other distinguished guests.

To be held until Wednesday, the 21st of October, both MedHealth & Wellness 2009 and Women Expo 2009 are expected to attract large crowds of visitors as the two events will showcase a wide range of products and services with the strong participation of local and international companies. Both exhibitions are open only to visitors over the age of 16, and the exhibition timings are set from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and then from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

"We are pleased to invite all professionals in Oman's health and medical sector to visit MedHealth & Wellness 2009, while all women in Oman should visit Women Expo 2009 to check out the wide range of products and services on display,"

said Nasser Diab, General Manager of Omanexpo LLC, the leading organiser of professional trade shows in the sultanate.

Diab pointed out that MedHealth & Wellness 2009 is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Health and it will feature more than 70 companies from over 15 countries worldwide. Among the countries represented in the exhibition are Bangladesh, Egypt, Germany, India, Iran, Italy, Jordan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, the UAE, UK, and the USA. The strong local and international participation gives the event the distinction of being one of the biggest healthcare exhibitions in the whole Middle East region.

Women Expo 2009, for its part, is the only exclusive exhibition for women in Oman, and it will feature over 50 companies from more than 10 countries worldwide. In addition to the presence of leading companies in Oman, the international exhibition will also have exhibitors from Italy, France, Lebanon, the UK, Japan, India, and UAE. The biggest delegation of 11 companies will come from Pakistan and is made up of members of the Central and North Punjab Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNPWCCI).

Now on its fourth edition, Women Expo 2009 will showcase a wide selection of women's products and services, while MedHealth & Wellness 2009 will display everything related to health care. Among these are medical equipment, health products, medical services, supplies for clinics and hospitals, and alternative therapies. A large number of international hospitals have also confirmed their participation to present medical tourism packages to potential clients.
