Sharjah Islamic Bank signs agreement to develop Oceanic Hotel and Resort

Sharjah Islamic Bank (SIB), owner of Sharjah National Hotels, has signed an agreement with Hotelier Holding Ltd. recently, to design a renovation and development plan for the Oceanic Hotel, which is located on the shoreline of the eastern province of Khorfakkan, Sharjah.

This comes as a part of a comprehensive project to develop and upgrade the Hotel, as it's considered one of the most important tourist attractions on the Eastern Coast of United Arab Emirates.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Mohammed Abdulla, Chief Executive Officer of SIB, along with Nasser Nasef, General Manager of the Oceanic Hotel & Resort, and Majdi Abdi, Group Chief Executive Officer of Hotelier Holdings Ltd. In the presence of Yousef Abu Salameh, Group Financial Controller of Sharjah National Hotels.

The project includes design, renovations and development of the existing building of the Oceanic Hotel & Resort in Khorfakkan. Additional villas and chalets are to be incorporated in the new design of the resort. Upgrades will also include a modern Banquet Hall with Conference facilities, multi-purpose Health Club for men and women, and there will be a covered swimming pool for women, children play area, and a specialized spa. In addition to redesigning the entire beach area with extensive water sports facilities and upgrading the existing diving center to become an international one.

After signing the agreement with Hotelier Holding Ltd., Mohammed Abdulla said the development project of the Oceanic Hotel is being undertaken in order to comply with the tourist boom, which is being witnessed currently in the United Arab Emirates particularly in resorts and Hotels.

He pointed out that the agreement is a step forward towards a comprehensive project for the development of all hotels within the group of Sharjah National Hotels, in order to expand the scope of business in the tourism sector of the UAE.

The CEO of Sharjah Islamic Bank further clarified that the Group of Sharjah National Hotels currently owns and manages three hotels, which are Holiday International (Sharjah), Marbella Resort (Sharjah), and the Oceanic Hotel & Resort (Khorfakkan).

"The United Arab Emirates is currently witnessing significant progress in the tourism sector, especially in terms of travel and accommodation for tourists, residents and businessmen. As the growing quantity of tourist traveling to the UAE is expected to continue in the coming years due to the availability of a full range of investment opportunities and services that attracts both tourists and businessmen. Hence, the project comes to cover the diverse needs imposed by the massive growth in the tourist sector, and give the guests the experience of a cozy and elegant stay"

Meanwhile, Majdi Abdi, Group Chief Executive Officer of Hotelier Holding Ltd. stated "It is a great privilege and pleasure to join Sharjah Islamic Bank in a partnership, as the owner of Sharjah National Hotels, to design, renovate and upgrade the Oceanic Hotel & Resort in Khorfakkan, which is one of the major tourist resorts on the east coast of the UAE. We will utilize all the expertise of Hotelier Company, which is a major international company specialized in project contracts for hotel and hospitality industry, to develop this important tourist attraction.
