Injazat, the information technology and business process managed services provider in the UAE and the Middle East, in partnership with the Insead Centre for Executive Education and Research, held a seminar titled "The Magic of Growth and the Transformation of the Global Economy" on October 18, 2009 at the Insead Abu Dhabi Centre.

The session, led by Ilian Mihov, Insead Professor of Economics, the Novartis Chaired Professor of Management and Environment, provided a framework for understanding the growing interconnected world economy and the impact of the financial crisis especially for developing countries. It explored the problems and prospects posed by new growth centers such as China, India, Brazil, Russia, Vietnam and Turkey.

Ibrahim Mohamed Lari, CEO, Injazat Data Systems, said:
"The global economy is undergoing radical shifts that have profound and long-term effects on national development and industrial growth. Although the Middle East has not been as hard hit as the rest of the world, it needs to acquire a better understanding of the forces that either impede or accelerate progress. The IT industry in particular should be aware of how the crisis has changed business priorities and opened up fresh opportunities."

The International Monetary Fund projects that developing countries will produce more goods and services than advanced economies for the first time in over a century in the next two years. In the Middle East, information and communications technology (ICT) is emerging as a vital business as the region's internet use continues to grow rapidly and as governments expand their technological capabilities. The UAE ICT industry is one of the strongest in the region, driven by increased demand for mass communication connections and IP services and solid government spending on ICT infrastructure.

A joint venture between Mubadala Development Co. and HP, Injazat Data Systems holds more than 50% of the UAE's IT outsourcing market. The company has been actively organizing and supporting various major industry-relevant events such as the first Data Centre Strategies Middle East Forum held last June 2009 in Abu Dhabi. It owns the first Tier IV design-certified data centre in the region and the only one of its kind outside of North America.
