Laura Ashley enters Middle East home furnishings and interiors market; strengthens partnership with Al Aqili for regional foray

Laura Ashley Home, the popular UK-based brand with 50 years of heritage in innovation of designs, patterns, fabrics, textures and a renowned global name in home décor announced foraying into the Middle East home furnishings and interiors market in partnership with its regional master franchiser, the Dubai-based Al Aqili Group.

Laura Ashley's new 6000 sq. ft exclusive Home outlet was unveiled by the British Consul General of Dubai, Guy Warrington, at Mercato, Jumeirah Road, Dubai.

The 2009 Autumn-Winter collection of Laura Ashley's renowned home furnishing and decoration range is expected to complete the brand portfolio and offer Middle East customers the full range of products from the UK supplier.

Mr. Abhay Nadkarni, Executive Director, Marketing and Commercial, Al Aqili Retail, said:
"The entry of Laura Ashley Home comes at a time of improvement in market sentiment and an upturn in spending. We have seen increased activity in re-location of homes within the emirate, as well as new expatriate families coming in at the upper end of the market. This will undoubtedly lead to stimulation of demand for quality home furnishings and interiors. Despite the fluctuations in the retail market in general, the Laura Ashley brand has been enthusiastically welcomed and enjoys popular consumer franchise. The addition of the home décor range will further strengthen the brand's presence in the region."

Ever since our fashion stores opened here in Mercato and in Dubai Festival City this summer, we have been receiving customer enquiries for the Home range. The new range of 2009 Autumn-Winter Home range will be available across various categories including all kinds of furniture, soft furnishings, lighting, beds, mattresses and linen, curtains and blinds, rugs and runners, paint, wallpaper, fabric, children's room sets, accessories and gift items.
