Consolidated Gulf wins Qatar Today Green Award

Consolidated Gulf Co (CGC), the technology solutions provider in Qatar, has been awarded the 'Qatar Today Green Award' for its excellent handling of electronic waste items in an eco-friendly manner thus contributing to the preservation and protection of the environment in Qatar.

The runner-up award in product or service category was received by Mohammed Faisal, Customer Care Manager of CGC at a function held recently in Doha. The company's Nokia Care Division has been efficiently processing the electronic wastes from the mobile phones coming for repairing.

On the occasion, Faisal thanked Qatar Today for recognizing CGC's continued efforts. He said:
"It is an honour to be awarded with the 'Qatar Today Green Award'. CGC has been running a full fledged programme under its CSR initiatives and has put in place a scientific and sustainable system to contribute to environmental cause. The award re-strengthens our resolve at CGC to double our efforts for a clean and green Qatar."


"Green world is a prerequisite for human existence in view of increasing global warming. We reiterate our commitment to increase and sustain our efforts to help protect the environment here in Qatar. We feel that awards like this will help in encouraging people to take better care of our surroundings," he stated.

The Qatar Today Green Awards is the first of its kind in Qatar. It was instituted last year to raise awareness about ecology among people of Qatar. It aims to increase awareness and motivate behavioural change in relation to the protection and preservation of environment. The actual award replica is made from green recycled paper and wooden frame.
