RAK Free Trade Zone seminar and road show targets Syrian SMEs

Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ), one of the fastest-growing free trade zones in the Middle East, is holding a road show in Syria from the 14th to the 21st of October, to introduce its cost effective and convenient business solutions.

As part of the promotional campaign, RAK FTZ representatives will also hold a seminar today, 20th of October at the Four Seasons Hotel Damascus.

Owners of family businesses and other small and medium enterprises have been invited to attend and discover the different products and services offered by RAK FTZ.

RAK FTZ representatives will highlight promotional packages specially tailored for Syrian companies. One such promotion on offer is the shared office facility from US$ 5,500.00, which is the most convenient and cost effective entry level package available. The shared office facility is a networked desk that comes with a telephone line, private email address and office facilities.

RAK FTZ is also promoting the Executive Office Package, a ready-to-use office space fully equipped with IT and telecommunication infrastructure, to all interested Syrian companies.

Oussama El Omari, RAK FTZ CEO, shared:
"The world is still rebounding from the economic crisis, but we need to move on. Now, the key to successfully penetrating a new market is to carefully consider your options and tailor your business set-up costs to a fraction of what you would have paid a year or so earlier. With the shared office facility, our clients are able to do just that, and we are really keen to let the businessmen of Syria know that they have this option with RAK FTZ."

Syria and the UAE have long been enjoying a thriving economic relationship, with the UAE importing an escalating amount of goods worth Dhs271m in 2004 increasing to Dhs501m in 2008. Imported products consist of food stuffs, beverages, vegetable products, live animals and animal products.

The natural progression of this growing trade relationship is for businesses from the UAE and Syria to look to each other for international growth opportunities - and this is what RAK FTZ offers business owners in Syria - the chance to expand their growing portfolio and enter the UAE and the rest of the GCC markets, by opening an office branch in a strategic locale.

"What we offer you today is the opportunity to grow further. RAK FTZ is here to help you enter the international market, particularly the UAE and later, expand your business throughout the Middle East and Northern Africa," RAK FTZ Chairman, H. H. Sheikh Faisal Bin Saqr Al Qassimi, shared in his pre-taped speech for the road show.

Road shows are a major part of RAK FTZ's strategy to attract more investors into the UAE through their customisable business set-ups. RAK FTZ, which was named the 'Best Emerging Free Zone' for the third consecutive year during the 2009 Annual Middle East Logistics Awards (MELA), also offers facilities in the RAK FTZ Academy Zone and Industrial & Technology Parks.

Interested parties may register with RAK FTZ representatives during the road show.
