Weyak is the Official Gaming Partner of World Game Championship 2009

Etisalat, the country's leading telecommunications company together with their brand Weyak announced its association with the World Game Championship (WGC) 2009, as their Official Gaming Partner.

With the tremendous turn out of gamers during the exciting eight weekend eliminations rounds held in the UAE (Dubai, Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ajman) Bahrain and Oman, organizers, Index Conferences & Exhibitions is now preparing for the upcoming finals of the WGC 2009 to be held from 27th to the 29th of October .

The championship, being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre is expected to draw hundreds of digital gaming enthusiasts from the region and abroad.

The finals are expected to have the attendance of the best gamers for Counter Strike, Warcraft, Guitar Hero, Virtua Tennis, Street Fighter and Pro Evolution Soccer, and three arcade games including American High Striker, Sega Rally, and Deal or No Deal.

According to Eng. Anas Al Madani, Vice President of Index Holding, "This second sequel of the games has given us more than enough validation that we are doing something right for the region's gaming industry. We expected an increase in turn-out of participants from last year, but we have never anticipated that the increment will be more than 100 percent from both local and the region. Indeed, the gaming culture of the Middle East is growing very fast. The Arab youth is becoming more adept with the latest technology of games. It is our honor to achieve the partnership of Weyak from Etisalat in staging the upcoming grand finals of WGC 2009 on the floors of Dubai World Trade Centre."
