UK's CIPR participates at Bahrain's First Annual Corporate Communications Conference

The First Annual Corporate Communications Conference 2009, the Kingdom's first and only regional Conference focused on meeting the specialized branding, communications and marketing needs of a fast growing economy - welcomes the participation of Ms. Elisabeth Lewis-Jones, 2008 President of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) in the UK as a keynote speaker.

This highly prestigious event, which will take place in Bahrain from 27-28 October 2009, will bring together the largest gathering of branding, marketing, communications, and PR gurus and thought leaders ever to come together in the region who will share their expertise with an international blend of advertising, communication, branding and marketing professionals.

"Ms. Elisabeth Lewis-Jones, also the Managing Director of Liquid Public Relations, will represent the CIPR at the conference. according to Mr. A. Sridhar, CEO OF Roshcomm, the main organizer of the event.

Ms. Lewis-Jones is an internationally known and well-respected figure in the public relations community, specializing in corporate/damage limitation activity. Over her career, she managed incidents from a fatal plane crashes to BSE, foot-and-mouth, industrial tribunals, land mark court cases, and medical errors. She was also a featured contributor to Kogan Page's book series on managing business risk.

Commenting on general communications landscape in the region, Ms. Elisabeth Lewis-Jones said, "We have seen the communications field mature noticeably in the GCC over the past decade, with an increased emphasis on transparency and positive community outreach in all industries. I am very pleased to be part of the inaugural Corporate Communications Conference 2009. I look forward to sharing my experiences with delegates at the event."

Prior to setting up Liquid Public Relations Limited, she was Managing Director of one of the largest and well respected PR consultancies in the UK. She has also been the UK PR Manager for the states of North Carolina, Nevada and the city of Las Vegas.

In her career, which spans over fifteen years, Ms. Lewis-Jones has received a number of prestigious awards, including Young Communicator of the Year by the Institute of Public Relations in 1995 while still only 25. In November 2003, she was awarded Fellowship of the CIPR for services to the Industry. She is the youngest person ever to be awarded such a high industry accolade.

In 2008, she became the 8th woman to serve as President of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. During her year in office, which was the 60th anniversary of the CIPR, she hosted the World Public Relations Conference and Festival in London, involving delegates from 34 countries across the globe. She chaired the CIPR Council and the CIPR Executive Board which shapes the UK PR industry in terms of policy, professionalism and development.

Ms. Lewis-Jones was listed in PR Week's 2008 'Power Book'. During the previous year, she wrote articles for The Financial Times, The Times and The Independent, and has spoken at conferences across the UK and British Isles, South Africa, Nigeria and Argentina.
