Abu Dhabi men's college opens new Security Application Training Centre

Abu Dhabi men's college announces the opening of a new training centre specializing in security applications and programs as part of a partnership agreement between Higher Colleges of Technology and the Swiss based company Securiton.
The centre was inaugurated by HE Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Also at the opening ceremony was attended by Dr.Tayeb Kamali, Vice Chancellor of Higher College of Technology, Dr. Simon Jones, Director of Abu Dhabi Men's College, Mr. Samuel Spreng, Chairman of the Swiss Securiton Group, and a number of delegates and company representatives as well as students from the Information Technology Department at ADMC.
In his speech, Mr. Spreng emphasized the significance of the new centre with the purpose of benefiting students by providing them access to the latest 3D intelligent video surveillance equipment and software systems as well as providing lectures, taught by specialists, in video analytics, applications and protocols.
"This will help to develop security technology expertise in the United Arab Emirates," he adds.
A lecture on 'Site Protection and Information Gathering' was given by Robert P. Hilty, a senior security consultant at Securiton, summarizing the advanced technological facilities the centre has to offer and emphasizing the advantage of establishing a centre in Abu Dhabi which is the first of its kind in the Arabian Gulf Region.
The Centre also boasts seven surveillance cameras and plasma display screens for the internal monitoring systems for site protection, as well as tracking devices for cameras and a digital system to determine security risk levels. The Site protection application works as an electronic risk detector with three levels of security alerts, which can sense the presence of trespassers or unauthorized intruders.
