Qtel launches Voice SMS service
- Qatar: Wednesday, October 21 - 2009 at 16:13
- PRESS RELEASE
Qtel launched new Voice SMS service, as now people in Qatar can now leave a voice message of love and happiness for friends and family as easily as they can send an SMS message.
Launched after extensive customer research, the service has been designed to be simple and effective, and open to the people of Qatar.
To send a Voice SMS, customers simply dial 134, followed by the number of the person they want to contact. They can then just record and send their message after the quick welcome instructions.
Voice SMS messages are received as easily as text messages, without disturbing the recipient, who can access their message at their convenience.
Executives at Qtel believe that, because voice communication contains a lot more emotion than text messaging, the service will be particularly popular with friends and family members.
The service has been designed to be accessible for the whole community, with people able to leave messages in the language of their choice, and support services in Arabic, English and Hindi.
Qtel Voice SMS is available with no service subscription or monthly fees to all Qtel mobile customers, whether Shahry or Hala.
People receiving a Voice SMS will be alerted by a text message, and will be able to follow an easy step-by-step process to listen to it. Customers can listen to messages free for the first time, and then choose to delete or reply to the message.
Messages can even be sent and received while travelling abroad, although standard roaming charges will apply.
