Biggest ever INFDEX opens at Doha Exhibition Center

For this once-a-year occasion, 20,000 visitors will discover all that is new and revolutionary in contemporary furniture and interiors brought direct to their doorstep as 100 exhibitors fill the 10,000 sq m. D.E.C. with the latest trendy furniture and designs.

Over 3,000 new design ideas will be on display for the attention of elite shoppers including bathrooms, furniture, bedrooms, office furniture, flooring and wall coverings, kitchens, lighting, textiles, and thousands of fashionable accessories.

Demonstrating how Qatar is now a magnet for the most important and well-known European and regional design brands, INFDEX 2009 features global brands such as Zara Home, Singways, TEKA and Ligne Roset, all eager to use INFDEX 2009 as a platform to display their latest products to Qatari customers.

Furthermore INFDEX 2009 reflects the continued growth of the Qatari interior design and furniture markets with our largest ever exhibition incorporating three international conferences.

And for the first time INFDEX is honoured to welcome His Excellency Dr Khalid Al-Attiyah, State Minister for International Cooperation and the Acting Minister for Business and Trade, to open INFDEX 2009.

Qatar's longest established furniture exhibition, INFDEX 2009 incorporates not one but three international design conferences. Qatar's first Italian design conference - Product and Project Quality: The Italian Furniture Industry Meets the Gulf Professional - takes place at 11:30am on Wednesday 21 October, followed by a Global Art conference the same evening and a Croatian design conference at 7pm on 23 October.

For the second year in succession, INFDEX 2009 hosts an international competition to discover the region's best young design talent. The INFDEX 2009 Best Young Designer Award - sponsored by Qatari Diar - has attracted a distinguished panel of international judges to present the coveted award to one the 25 deserving entries at the 22 October INFDEX Gala Dinner at Grand Hyatt Hotel.
