- PRESS RELEASE
Established to recognize the companies, deployments, and individuals that lead the Middle East market in terms of innovation and professional excellence, the Annual ACN Award Ceremony was held on the evening of October 19 in Dubai.
In 2006, ictQATAR, with the SEC, launched its e-education strategy to propel Qatar's K-12 Independent Schools and students into a new knowledge era by adopting cutting-edge e-learning techniques. In 2007, ITWorx, a Microsoft Strategic Education Partner, was selected to implement this strategy. With Microsoft, ITWorx delivered the first phase of Knowledge Net (K-Net) education portal on MLG 2005 (Microsoft Learning Gateway), serving 12 schools.
In 2008, ictQATAR sought to broaden the e-learning capacity of K-Net by migrating to the new MLG 2007 platform, leveraging its enhanced functionalities, and adding more schools as well as thousands of new users. ITWorx was re-entrusted with the implementation.
Concluded in July 2009, K-Net has geared Qatar to become a true knowledge-based and progressive society.
