The Chamber's Corporate Online Video encourages members to place corporate video presentations, video press conferences and news releases free for now. Presently, the cost for advertising a traditional banner or a documentary or company profile video on Chamber TV is minimal.
On a global level, the Chamber TV aims to be a syndicated hub of news and information shared by various chambers of commerce around the world which will not only showcase chamber-related news, members' corporate videos and profiles but major business related news and events happening around the globe.
Aside from being a unique and cost effective advertising medium that supports the Chamber's members and the business community alike, the Chamber TV documents video of the Chamber events, conferences, training sessions and seminars, keeps the business community aware of its activities as it adheres to the Dubai e-Government directives of providing value-added services to the customers.
With 50,000 monthly business visitors comprising registered Chamber members and international companies looking for information on conducting business in Dubai, the Channel offers a corporate platform for the Dubai business community to promote themselves to a local, regional and international business fraternity. Currently, there are 60 corporate promotional videos being webcast on Chamber TV.
Farhad Qazi, Senior Manager, Multimedia and Special Projects, Dubai Chamber informed that the idea behind the Chamber TV initiative is the fact that the online medium has a 24/7 audience and is not restricted by time or geographical constraints.
Qazi said:
"So far the feedback has been overwhelming and we have received numerous advertising inquiries.. Also, very soon our website will offer e-services for assessing Dubai Chamber services from handheld mobile devices."
Farhad maintained that businesses normally pay thousands of dirhams for online advertisements on different web portals of the region and the Dubai Chamber TV is a boon for them to save cost.
Keeping in mind that the global internet video related content will account for more than 90% of all consumer internet traffic by 2013, the Dubai Chamber TV aims to have an audience of 50,000 to 100,000 viewers in a single day in the next couple of months and the numbers doubling and tripling in the coming years.
Currently, the Dubai Chamber website www.dubaichamber.ae that received the first place for Best Website developed by an Arab civic society organization in Kuwait's HH Sheikh Salem Al Ali Al Sabah Informatics Contest 2008, offers its members the service to login in to their personal accounts, update their information, renew their membership, verify their certificate of origin and browse through the Chamber's extensive online commercial directory.
The website uses Web 2.0. sites that provide users with information storage, creation, and dissemination capabilities that were not possible in the environment now known as "Web 1.0".
Anyone interested can browse through the Dubai Chamber event calendar or subscribe to the RSS feed to keep themselves informed of all the Chamber related events and participate in them by registering and paying the enrollment fees online like, for example, the forthcoming Dubai Business Gala being organized on November 2.
