During the event, H.E. Mr. Al Qubaisi said:
"SEHA and SKMC were honored today to celebrate the Children's Day with the children at the hospital. We know that it's no fun being in hospital and particularly for children. In addition to caring for them at SKMC, we believe a bit of cheer was brought up to our children lives through this special event."

"You can tell by the smiles and look in their eyes that these kids appreciate the cheer and good will." added Carl Stanifer.

"Our caregivers at SKMC are so focused on these children and their welfare! It makes me proud and I am glad we can be a part of this celebration by SKMC."

Linda Clark, Chief Operating Officer at SKMC stated, "The children in our 94 bed Pediatric Wards suffer from health complications that oblige them not to leave the hospital for some days or more. We aim to care for them not only medically but also psychologically and by the end of their hospital stay, we would like them to feel that our physicians and nurses were part of their families and friends."

"Our team is committed to provide all the patients, regardless of their different age groups and conditions, with the proper healthcare needed and our goal is to attain the highest levels of patient satisfaction within the UAE community", Mrs. Clark added.

Abdulla Khouri, Director of Support Services Division said, "Admitted children in the hospital need to be entertained. Amusements expand their abilities, challenge their intellects, stretch their imaginations and teach them basic skills like reading and logic".

The event included a number of different activities for almost five hours offering the opportunity for the staff and children to spend valuable and joyous time together during their treatment at SKMC. Different popular characters joined the children during the event and visited them in their rooms. Juggler show and kiddy rides were also part of the activities.
