France boasts some of the oldest machinery producers in the world, and their expertise can help regional players boost the nascent paper industry in the Middle East. Ten French firms specialising in paper technology are taking part in Paper Arabia tapping new customers explore business leads.
"French companies are looking on Paper Arabia 2009 as an ideal platform to highlight latest solutions in paper industry, in an ambience where global players from the paper, tissue and converting industry will compete for market share," said Khanna.
Paper Arabia offers opportunities to manufactures and suppliers of finished products, equipment, machinery, paper chemicals, services, supplies of paper, tissue and converting sector to access the Middle East and North African markets.
Khanna added:
"Paper Arabia, with more than 200 exhibitors from 30 countries from across the world, is a key platform for traders and industry players to interact. Along a strong participation from France, the show's participants include leading global names from the UAE, Italy, Jordan, China, France, Taiwan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Netherlands, India, Indonesia, Egypt, Germany, India, USA and the UK. The number of exhibitors had increased this year in spite of the crisis. More than 5,000 trade visitors are expected to visit the three-day event."
Khanna said it was healthy that the paper industry in the region was dependant on packaging production rather than raw paper material production, as the former depends on technology and manpower, while the latter depends on the usage of natural resources, mainly trees.
Under the French pavilion, ABB (Activité Cellier) will display a wide array of turnkey industrial units for the management, reception preparation and dosing of process or functional chemicals.
Kadant will display its specific solutions and equipment for the paper industry, mainly for the stock prep (Fine screening, Pulping and decontamination, Deinking Water treatment and fibre recovery, Stock washing). Allimand will show advanced machinery for the paper making industry (stock preparation - paper machines - winders - vacuum pumps) and complete paper machines which meet the requirements of various customers.
ABK Machinery, with the help of its affiliates (ABK Services, ABK Automation, IR.D.S., M.D.S. and Hydro Motion), will spotlight complete paper and board machines and solutions of revamping existing machines.
Pall Corporation, the world's largest and most diverse filtration, separation and purification company, will showcase solutions for all kind of fluids to the Pulp and paper industry.
The show will also capture latest steam system and air system for paper machines as well as training and maintenance of the measuring devices of many laboratories of control and research.
At the show, Solaronics Bekaert will feature solutions in gas, electrical infrared and air drying after size press and coating stations for paper and board applications.
Metrasur Industrie will highlight site grinding Dryers, Coating on Rewinder Rolls, Special coatings (Carburflon) on dryers, guide rolls, rebuilding and machining journals Dryers, bores on frames, Design and rebuilding of spreader rolls and Balancing.
As for soft skills expertise development, the show will capture training courses specialised in pulp and paper sciences worldwide with lecturers coming from research centers, suppliers and external consultants.
