DTCM and DSG signs up for leadership programme

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has signed up with Dubai School of Government (DSG) to provide executive education programme for its staff to enhance their professional skills and expertise in leadership and management.
The strategic partnership with DSG is in line with the DTCM's commitment towards enhancing the professional skills and excellence culture of its human resources.
The agreement was signed by DTCM Executive Director Corporate Support, Mr. Ibrahim Yaqoot and Mr. Khaled El Gohary, Director of Executive Education Program at DSG, at a ceremony held at the DTCM Head Office.
The programme's core focus areas are based on leadership in the 21st Century, Strategic Planning, Financial Management, Human Resources Development, Crisis Management, Communication Skills, Dealing with Media, Networking Events, Roundtable Discussions on Branding and Book Summary sessions.
Mr. Ibrahim Yaqoot said the agreement with DSG comes within the framework of DTCM's initiative to prepare its leaders to be able to fulfill the responsibilities of their professional positions and the vision and future plans of the department.
He said the Dubai government has been taking keen interest in developing the leaders in order to deal with the challenges and that DTCM was keen to train its employees to hone their professional skills to take up higher responsibilities.
Mr. Yaqoot said the programme will help prepare the UAE national employees cadres to be ready to take up higher job responsibilities in the future. He said this programme will be of immense help to the employees holding middle and senior level positions in the organization.
He said the programme will help enhance the tourism product offering of Dubai and ensure even better quality of services to the tourists and visitors of the emirate.
Mr. Khaled El Gohary said the DSG relies on the best and latest educational and vocational training programmes to achieve the goals of its partner public sector organizations. It maintains good relations with world-renowned educational institutions like the Harvard University. DSG was aware about the DTCM's needs and expectations from this programme, for which it will source the best trainers from the reputed educational institutions, he added.
He said DSG has partnered with the government departments in the emirate to design and deliver the best educational and vocational training programmes with the help with universities and other educational organizations to achieve the vision of Dubai government to remain at the cutting-edge of the businesses.
DSG is a research and teaching institution focusing on public policy in the Arab world. Established in 2005 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in cooperation with the Harvard Kennedy School, DSG aims to promote good governance through enhancing the region's capacity for effective public policy.
Toward this goal, the Dubai School of Government also collaborates with regional and global institutions in delivering its research and training programs. The school is focused on capacity building and conducts various programs that seek to promote good governance through enhancing the region's capacity for effective Public Policy.
