Travco Group concludes its 30th year with prestigious awards

In light of its strong presence in the tourism market Travco Group generated the highest tourism revenue with over 1.3 million inbound tourists, qualifying for the Number One Travel Company in Egypt award for the 13th year in a row, and the award was received by Mr. Karim El Chiaty, Business Development Manager.

Alpitour Group Egypt, represented by Khaled Youssry, division manager, received the award for occupying the 7th position amongst the ten awarded travel companies - which is a major achievement given that the company has been in business for six years.

Jaz Hotels, Resorts & Cruises, the group's hospitality arm, received three awards; one for its 5-star deluxe Nile Cruises Jaz Omar El Khayam, and the second for one of its 5-star hotel properties in Sharm El Sheikh, Jaz Mirabel Beach Resort. This is in addition to Jaz Almaza Beach Resort being awarded as a leading 5- star hotel property in Almaza Bay in Mersa Matruh.

With this award Travco Group managed to conclude its 30th year with yet another accomplishment bringing the year to an outstanding closure.

Building on its reputation as the leading leisure group in the Middle East, Travco Group has raised the bar of achievements with its numerous new hotel openings, and major acquisitions not only in Egypt but world wide.

With the recent addition of Steigenberger Hotels AG to Travco Group, the company has no doubt established itself with the largest hotel portfolio reaching 146 hotels and resorts in Europe and the Middle East. September of this year also witnessed the signing of a joint venture agreement to launch Egypt's first low cost carrier, Air Arabia Egypt. The new carrier should commence its operations by the end of 2009, and will serve Europe, Africa and Asia markets and will represent Air Arabia third hub after UAE and Morocco.

As for Jaz Hotels, Resorts & Cruises, it began with the opening of its first city hotel, Iberotel Cairo Hotel & Casino; followed by Jaz Crystal Resort and Jaz Oriental Resort in Almaza Bay; and its first venture in Ain Sokhna Jaz Little Venice Golf Resort.

The company didn't stop there, but it extended to Aswan with Iberotel Aswan; the first phase of its residential units in Madinat Makadi - Iberotel Makadi Palms; its 18th hotel property in the Red Sea Iberotel Aquamarine Resort; and Sol Y Mar Dolphin House in Marsa Alam.

Travcotels, Travco Group's Nile Cruise company marked its presence throughout these developments with the launch of Jaz Omar El Khayam, which immediately proved to be the highlight of the River Nile; followed by Chateau Lafayette, Jaz Minerva, Jaz Legacy, and very soon its all-suite vessel Jaz Esperia.
