Regester Larkin MD to speak on managing corporate reputation' at Corporate Communications Conference 2009
- Bahrain: Sunday, October 25 - 2009 at 13:51
- PRESS RELEASE
The First Annual Corporate Communications Conference 2009, the Kingdom's first and only regional Conference focused on meeting the specialized branding, communications and marketing needs of a fast growing economy, will feature a lecture on managing corporate reputation by Mr. Rob Sherwin, Managing Director of Regester Larkin's Middle East operations, a leading reputation strategy and management consultancy.
Commenting on the conference, Mr. Rob Sherwin said, "Reputation management is an emerging but vital discipline in the GCC, both for international companies investing in the region, and also for companies and government entities from the region investing overseas. Companies need to be aware of, and fully prepared to handle risks to their reputation, whether from accidents, corporate governance failures, missed targets or any other gap between expectations and performance."
Prior to his current post, he was Middle East Energy Adviser to the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office, working with many departments of the UK government and its network of Embassies to engage Middle East governments and energy companies on issues of energy security and climate change.
Mr. Sherwin also spent 10 years at Shell, working in natural gas marketing, corporate strategy, and finally upstream new business development in the Middle East. Reputation management was central to his stint there where he worked on promoting the brand to clients in the oil and gas sector, advising the Board on sustainable development strategy, and helping to position the company as the partner of choice for Middle East governments.
"With his GCC experience, particularly in the energy sector, combined with his earlier career in one of the toughest corporate media environments in the world marks him out as a leading thinker on reputation management in the region. Mr. Sherwin is yet another important reason why delegates should not miss out on the opportunity to attend the Conference," said Mr. M.A. Sridhar, CEO of Roshcomm, organizers of the conference.
