- PRESS RELEASE
The National Association for Cancer Awareness (NACA) has taken another giant step forward in the fight against cancer. The Association is pleased to announce that Oman's first Mobile Mammography Unit (MMU) is ready to take NACA's care on the road to serve women who otherwise might not have access to breast cancer screening and cancer education.
Custom-built in Oman, the MMU will provide women with easy and convenient access to a mammogram; something all women above 40 are recommended to take once a year. The new MMU is packed with the latest facilities and identified as the best tool yet in the Sultanate for the early detection of breast cancer.
Early detection is crucial, especially as one third of all cancers, if detected early, can be effectively treated. NACA's MMU will be launched in November and will be manned by an all female team of registered technicians with advanced training in the discipline of mammography.
