The new system is the first initiative of its kind across Dubai Government. Beside the above highlighted features, the system facilitates the application of budget preparation through introducing new additions such interfacing with the e-mail system; thereby enabling review & follow-up with other parties. The system is also flexible and responsive in case of any emergency changes in the system, and ensures compliance with the timetable of budget preparation.
The system is considered as RTA financial database, as it forges a link between Hyperion and GRP systems, making it easy for budget preparation officials to issue budget reports at a high accuracy and speed levels. This will accordingly support decision-taking process, and the ability to generate swift reports; which in turn will improve report efficiency & financial indicators of the RTA.
The application of the new system resulted in an all-out success as far as the preparation of 2010 Budget is concerned in terms of receiving inputs of the new budget from all RTA departments according to the timetable set, and releasing the provisional budget reports of the RTA. Moreover, the new system also minimized the percentage of errors associated with the previous manual system, and proved successful throughout report preparation and approval process.
"The department is seeking to deliver broad and excellent financial management services through the best methods in practice, in the context of its efforts to enhance the excellence of all services delivered. RTA is keen on introducing pioneer concepts to maximize the chances of realizing its strategic objectives, and boost the continuous drive of adopting the best practices,"
