The planned phase out of the 48kg cylinders will occur as the new filling plant is fully operational and the existing filling plant run by Qatar Petroleum in Meisaeed is decommissioned.

Mohammed Turki Al Sobai, Woqod's Vice Chairman and Managing Director, stated:
"The 48kg cylinder is heavy and dangerous to handle. We are encouraging users of these cylinders to switch to fixed bulk tanks. The new tanks will be supplied by Woqod and installed by one of five authorized LPG installation contractors. The premises of each individual customer can be professionally surveyed and a recommendation made for the size of LPG tank and the best location for safety."

"Installation options will include gas leak detection systems and different piping options. Woqod's dedicated fleet of modern LPG road tankers will provide a safe and reliable delivery service to ensure that customers have a continuous supply of LPG. This latest initiative by Woqod further demonstrates the company's dedication to improve the safe handling of the products and services Woqod offers to its customers," added Al Sobai.
