Bahrain Insurance Association hosts upcoming Sixth Annual Gulf Insurance Forum

The Bahrain Insurance Association (BIA) will be hosting the upcoming Sixth Annual Gulf Insurance Forum for the first time in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The insurance event will be held under the patronage of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), and is being organized in cooperation with the Co-ordination Commission for Gulf Insurance & Reinsurance Companies under the theme: 'Developing GCC Insurance Markets and Products'.

The Forum will take place at the Gulf Hotel Bahrain from November 4 to 5, 2009, and will cover four important industry issues which aim to bolster GCC insurance markets and promote their continued growth and development. The primary focus of event proceedings will be: GCC Regulatory Panel: the UAE experience, Web-based Insurance Applications, Developing and Retaining Insurance Human Resources: the Bahrain experience, and the Image of the Insurance Industry.

"We would like to thank the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) for supporting this important and prestigious forum; and for the prudence and guidance the CBB has shown amidst global economic turmoil," remarked Mr. Ashraf Bseisu, Chairman of the Bahrain Insurance Association. CBB has further extended their support to this by hosting the lunch for the first day of the Forum.

"The Sixth Annual Gulf Insurance Forum is a must for professionals from the Insurance and financial services sector. We are anticipating a good turnout, and a highly informative event with engaging discussions," Mr. Bseisu added.

The Sixth Annual Gulf Insurance Forum will be attended by professionals from the Insurance, financial services sector, market regulators, officials of central banks and monetary agencies, corporations, industry experts, and academics.

In addition to the presentations and panel discussions, the Forum will provide ample networking opportunities and a welcome gala dinner for participants.

An expert line-up of speakers will be announced shortly and includes regional and international Insurance officials, regulators, and government representatives.
