"We've crafted the latest ThinkPad SL laptops to meet the unique needs of small to medium businesses, giving them the durability, reliability and performance to stay productive wherever they do business. Blending technologies designed for productivity and entertainment gives small and medium businesses the best of both worlds in one affordable package backed with full service and support offerings from Lenovo."

said Jerry Paradise, director, worldwide ThinkPad product marketing, Lenovo.

Technology Designed to Work Hard, Play Hard

At approximately 10% lighter than previous models, starting at just five pounds and measuring less than 1.5 inches thin, these laptops are the ideal technology companions for busy, on-the-go SMBs. Powered by Intel Core2Duo processors and optional ATI Mobility Radeon™ 4570 graphics, users can rely on their versatile ThinkPad SL410 and SL510 laptops to power their next business meeting, sales demonstration or multimedia proposal. They can relax off the clock using the laptops to watch high definition movies, edit family photos or connect with friends through social networking sites.

To support excellent viewing, the ThinkPad SL410 and SL510 laptops are the first in the ThinkPad SL Series to have a LED 16:9 widescreen. Additionally, VibrantView and Anti-glare technology provide bright, vibrant screen colors and reduce glare. For a more intense high-definition experience, select models include BluRay DVD players.

The ThinkPad SL410 and SL510 laptops also support HDMI and VGA output for high definition and standard external monitor displays. Additionally, they include a new multitouch touchpad for using gestures to perform common browsing tasks such as zooming in and out and rotating pictures.

"Always On" 3G Connectivity and Communications

To help users stay in touch with friends, family and business colleagues, the laptops support the unique ways that small business and individual users work - wherever they are. For always-on, 24/7 connectivity, select models of the ThinkPad SL410 and SL510 laptops are available with built-in 3G connectivity. Through Lenovo's relationship with AT&T, users benefit from more affordable 3G technology. The laptops also feature WiFi, Ethernet and optional Bluetooth technologies.

With the PC at the heart of a strong VoIP experience, Lenovo optimized the laptops by increasing the resolution of the cameras to two MegaPixels, adding a microphone mute button to the keyboard and improving the digital microphone for clearer, crisper sounding conversations. The laptops also incorporate Intel High Definition Audio to help deliver the features and high-end performance of an add-in audio card. This enables audio out to be delivered on multiple channels and helps avoid audio glitches or popping through dedicated bandwidth for critical audio functions.

Supported with Software and Services

The ThinkPad SL Series forms the centerpiece of a comprehensive set of Lenovo SMB computing solutions including robust services options, helpful software solutions and a diversity of hardware offerings such as Lenovo ThinkServers. ThinkPad SL Series laptops come equipped with Lenovo ThinkVantage Technologies (TVTs) - a set of hardware and software tools that are particularly helpful for SMB users who often do not have a dedicated IT staff. These tools help make critical activities like connecting to the Internet, managing passwords, recovering data and updating the laptop easy. The laptops include a number of TVTs such as Access Connections, Client Security Solutions, Rescue and Recovery, Presentation Director and System Update.

Lenovo's service offerings have been designed specifically for SMB customers and for the business partners who serve them. Lenovo offers Priority Support to give SMBs access to Lenovo's leading technical support, or customers can choose to have service delivered by their Lenovo business partner.

To make it easy for SMB customers to protect their data, ThinkPad SL laptops come preloaded with a link to Lenovo's Online Backup service. Customers can try it free for 90 days and instantly begin to backup their files to a secure, online "cloud."

Greening PC Hardware

Lenovo continues to expand its green commitment with the ThinkPad SL410 and SL510 laptops. They are the first ThinkPad laptops to incorporate post-consumer recycled materials such as plastic water and soda bottles - waste that would typically end up in a landfill. They laptops also are rated Gold by the Electronic Products Environmental Assessment Tool and have an Energy Star 5.0 rating. Other environmentally-responsible attributes of the laptops include mercury free displays, optional renewable energy solar panel accessories and a reusable bulk packaging program.

Availability

The ThinkPad SL410 and SL510 laptops are available immediately through business partners.
