The annual event, organised by the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) Madinat Zayed and Ruwais Campuses, will be held from November 1-5, 2009 at the respective campuses. Kicking off on November 1st, the Madinat Zayed campus will be open for women and on November 2nd for men. The fair will continue onto Ruwais and November 4th will be reserved for women and November 5th for men.

WRDC's support at the Fair forms part of its mission to facilitate employment and career development opportunities for the residents of Al Gharbia. The Fair, which is attended by high school students, college students and the general public, is widely regarded as an excellent venue for jobseekers and those seeking career advice across the region. The Al Gharbia Career Fair 2009 will be attended by a broad range of leading companies looking to recruit qualified and skilled applicants from the region. These sectors include everything from government entities, banking, education, energy, healthcare and investment to oil and gas, tourism and NGOs.

H.E. Mohamed Hamad Bin Azzan Al Mazrouei, WRDC's Director General pledged his full support for the annual event:

"We are again pleased to collaborate with HCT - Madinat Zayed and Ruwais following last year's highly successful Al Gharbia Career Fair. The MoU WRDC signed with HCT in 2008 has proved instrumental to improving the educational and vocational opportunities for Al Gharbia residents and the Al Gharbia Career Fair is indicative of the level of commitment directed towards Al Gharbia residents."

Adding to this, Dr. Philip Quirke, Director of HCT Madinat Zayed and Ruwais, underscored the advantages of the Fair: "This event is an excellent opportunity to promote job opportunities and career options for residents and students of Al Gharbia. It is also an ideal platform for those attending to meet and network with a wide range of private and governmental employers who can give valuable insights into their business. It also means that these employers are able to tap into the talent of the region."

Following the success of last year's fair, it is expected that the Al Gharbia Career Fair 2009 will draw more than double the number of visitors and exhibitors.
