Bahrain to hold 2nd Annual Food and Hospitality Expo in January 2010

Bahrain Exhibition & Convention Authority (BECA) will hold the 2nd Annual Food & Hospitality Expo, the Kingdom of Bahrain's largest gathering of food, beverage and hospitality industry professionals, in Hall 2A of Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre from 12th to 14th January 2010.

BECA's Food & Hospitality Expo has launched new products and product enhancements since it debuted in January this year with the support of Bahrain's Ministry of Industry & Commerce. It is part of the events portfolio of BECA which functions under the stewardship of H.E. Dr. Hassan A. Fakhro, The Minister of Industry & Commerce, Kingdom of Bahrain, and Chairman of the Board of BECA.

According to Hassan Jaffer Mohamed, CEO - BECA, the level and calibre of the 2nd Food & Hospitality Expo's participating exhibitors including leading companies and organisations such as Tamkeen (Labour Fund); Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry; TUV Middle East (Member of TUV NORD Group), the German Inspection, Certification and Training Body; Bahrain Airport Services; Coca-Cola; Babasons; Bahrain Modern Mills; Noor Al Bahrain; The Diplomat Radissson BLU Hotel; Moevenpick Hotel, Gulf Hotel and The Regency Inter.Continental Hotel with Gulf Air as the Official Carrier demonstrate the value that will be delivered by this business event in January 2009.

BECA and Tamkeen are co-financing a showcase for Bahraini food industry Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Tamkeen's pavilion in Food & Hospitality Expo 2010 is being being organised in co-operation with the Bahrain Business Women Society.

TUV Nord will be conducting workshops complying with the requirements of the International Food Safety Management System Standard during the three-day premier, international food and hospitality event. Basic Food Hygiene, Basic Health and Safety for Catering Industry, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point are some of the topics that will be discussed at the workshops which aim to raise safety standards and preserve consumer confidence in the products of the food industry in Bahrain.

Its concept and programme of workshops will optimise the dialogue between exhibitors and retailers and further participants' and visitors' understanding of these sectors,"
