Doha Marriott's Taj Rasoi Restaurant and Pearl Lounge Club win Qatar Today Restaurant Awards for 2008 and 2009

According to recent opinion polls, taken out by the Qatar Today magazine, Doha Marriott's Taj Rasoi Restaurant was voted 'Best Indian Restaurant' in Qatar.
Starting with 90 restaurants nominating themselves under 12 categories and polling over 50,000 votes the first year, the Awards has seen immense growth. The last edition had 170 restaurants nominating themselves, and over 125,000 votes were polled.
The Qatar Today Restaurant Awards recognises the best and most popular eateries in town with readers invited to vote for their favorite restaurant under twelve different categories. After five months of voting process, the awards were announced in October 2009. This six-month program was culminates with the final counting of votes in June and restaurants securing the maximum votes were awarded the 'Best of category' award.
The very name of the award-winning Indian restaurant Taj Rasoi conjures up images of maharajas who knew the secrets of magnificent dining.
The menu offers aromatic and tantalizing specialties from various regions of India. Speciality Chef Marsel John D'Cruze from Calcutta, India reverts back to 22 years of hospitality experience which he earned after he taught himself how to cook in the gentle age of 14 years.
Adjacent to the hotel, the exclusive Pearl Lounge Club features a dining area with sushi and a mezzanine level for VIP members only. The state of the art sound system brings in the latest trends in music. Pearl Lounge DJ Lilo has a huge repertoire covering all genres of music.
