Dubai Chamber members learn to be successful leaders

Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised a training workshop on essential leadership skills at its premises on Monday. The training session came as part of the Chamber's initiative to help members gain new skills and knowledge and to develop their leadership qualities in facing the challenges posed by their businesses.

Coming on the success of the first summer intensive training session conducted by Capstone Consulting, the leadership training session covered three modules including Leadership Approaches and Practices; Motivating Your Team; and Communication and Effective Leadership Skills and was attended by business owners, managers, CEOs, and individuals who wanted to improve their leadership skills.

Headed by Amer Qureshi, Managing Director of Capstone Consulting, the participants partook in role playing and simulation exercises and reviewed case studies of global leaders. They also learned how to develop and understand their own leadership style, how to be an inspiration to their team, as well as improving their planning, communicating, and decision making abilities.

Dr Belaid Rettab, Senior Executive Director, Economic Research and Sustainable Business Development Sector, Dubai Chamber informed that this training session organized by Dubai Chamber's Business Support Department provides participants the opportunity to gain knowledge and practical experience to become more focused,
innovative and creative leaders within their organisation.

Belaid said:
"Dubai Chamber under its strategic objectives of creating a favourable business atmosphere and supporting the development of business strives to facilitate the business community with the best services and training that would equip them with the relevant techniques of becoming more competitive in the business arena."


Said Amer Qureshi, "Business owners and managers constantly need to gain new skills and knowledge to effectively lead their organizations. The Leadership Training workshop is an excellent initiative by the Dubai Chamber to help the members to grow and develop as professionals."

He added, "Leadership is more of an art than science, but research shows that leadership skills can be learnt over time. The Leadership workshop held at the Dubai Chamber provided the participants with the tools and techniques to become better leaders. We are delighted to be a part of this initiative."

The Business Support Department at Dubai Chamber works to improve the business environment for businesses and stimulates its business support services by organising seminars, roundtables, training workshops, business counseling and credit rating services.
